Saturday TBD from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM at the Fredericksburg Food Banks' working farm off of White Oak road in Stafford.
Activity includes planting, weeding, harvesting, etc. for food
To help us coordinate interest and availability, please take a few minutes to complete this survey. Your input will allow us to plan effectively and ensure that everyone who would like to participate has the chance to do so.
Both of these events are firm commitments and parents would be expected to fill spots not filled by scouts.
🧗🏼 Climboree - October 10-13, 2025
We’re excited to announce that one open spot has become available for the upcoming Climboree, October 10–13, 2025, in Morgantown, WV.
Here’s a quick look at what the weekend will include:
Climbing on natural rock and a 60-foot tower
Bouldering on gritstone walls
Guided challenge course sessions
The Big Zip – a quarter-mile zipline
Rifle, shotgun, and archery ranges
All-day, hands-on Dutch oven cooking classes
The following Scouts are already registered: Joey, Graysen, HG, Isaiah, PJ, Zane, and Ziggy.

🇺🇸 2026 National Jamboree - Registration
July 22-31, 2026, Summit Bechtel Scout Reservation, New Hope, West Virginia
Jamboree is more than a destination. It’s the adventure of lifetime. There is simply nothing else like it on the planet.
What’s a Jamboree? It’s not camp. National Jamboree is 360-degrees of fun, friends and fellowship with hands-on adventure that takes you places you never thought you’d go and challenge you to try things you never thought you could.
It’s the beginning of your own heroes’ journey that will challenge you to go farther than you ever thought possible. You’ll reach deeper and lift yourself higher to become the best version of yourself.
PAYMENT SCHEDULE:
Deposit: $300, Due March 31, 2025
$100 of the deposit is non-refundable.
Payment1 $500, Due May 15, 2025
Payment 2 $500, Due August 14, 2025
Payment 3 $500, Due November 30, 2025
Final Payment $650, Due March 1, 2026
All cancelations must be done by 10/01/2025, after that point refunds are only available for 85% of the NCAC fees.
NOTE: This is a council event not a Troop 847 event. All payments, forms, etc. are submitted and processed by council.
💲Troop Dues
Troop dues are $25 per Scout and must be paid by March 15.
Payments can be made on Cheddar Up or in person at the next meeting.

Key Updates
Dues
Parents will pay the recharter fees for Scouts (Scouting America $85 and Council $80) individually online when notified by my.scouting.org website. Families will pay the Troop Unit Fee ($25) separately. Click here for directions!
Registered Adult Fee ($65) will be reimbursed if they serve as an active leader for at least 3 events per year (Campouts, Weekend Events, Etc.)

Troop 847 is located in Chancellor, Virginia and is sponsored by the Methodist Men of Tabernacle United Methodist Church located at 7310 Old Plank Road. The Troop meetings are held every Monday night 7:00 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. at the Chancellor Community Center located at 7300 Old Plank Road .
The Troop, a diverse group of boys, has been sponsored by the Methodist Men of Tabernacle United Methodist Church for over sixty years. The Troop, its leaders, and the Parent Committee maintain a close relationship with the Church and the Methodist Men. The Church provides meeting space and budgetary support.
Our troop enjoys monthly adventures including camping, hiking, pioneering, orienteering, backpacking, rock climbing, canoeing, summer camp, community service, and other exciting activities.
